What 30-minute timeframe of photos do you think is the most important on a wedding day? As the designated photographer, we are responsible to capture a variety of photos: rings, flowers, portraits, family, trinkets, bridesmaids, flower girls, ceremony sites, sunsets, cakes, dance moves, and the list goes on. As you can see from all of our best-of galleries, we love them all. But there is something very special about the Romantic session. We love this time when we get to slow down with the bride and groom and create stunning works of art that they can forever remember their day with.
Denene & Roy were married on March 31, 2012 at The Baker House in Lake Geneva, WI. The ceremony was held on location with the reception following immediately afterward. The Baker House is an overwhelmingly beautiful venue with so much to take in as a guest and as a photographer. Each room is exquisitely decorated and unique. The customer service Denene and Roy received fromt the staff at The Baker House was over-the-top. To view Denene & Roy's entire wedding gallery follow this link: Baker House Wedding Photography.
They had a first look around noon and we jumped right into the photography to get the meat and potatoes photography captured before the ceremony. We started by getting getting photos of the dress and shoes and rings set up around the Baker House. The bridal suite we used to shoot the dress in was stunning. After Denene finished putting on her beautiful dress we went across the street to shoot on the piers and around The Riviera. The ceremony was very fast and we completed the family photos and a few more romantic session photos before arriving at the reception. Below are some of the photos from their big day.
Samantha and Doug are a fun loving couple and Max and I were honored to be part of their big day. They chose a masquerade party approach with masks, feathers and an amazing dress! We started out at Samantha's mom's house in Lake Geneva for some getting ready photos. Then we went to Grand Geneva for the first look before having the ceremony at the Lake Geneva United Methodist Church. After shooting the ceremony we moved into an extended wedding party session and we started that at The Riviera. There were lots of other weddings in addition to the Lake Geneva Marathon and prom that day! But the hustle and bustle only added to the excitement and fun! After the Riv we went over to Yerkes Observatory to shoot some additional shots with the amazing architecture and bold beautiful skies we had on Saturday.
Finally we went to the reception at Hawk's View Golf Club. The food was amazing and the entertainment was provided by Midwest Sound. Samantha's over the top dress was designed by San Patrick. Max Biedermann was the lead photographer for this wedding and in my humble opinion did a fantastic job. It was fun and challenging to serve as the second shooter/assistant for once.
Many see Lake Geneva as a quick 3 day weekend get-a-way during the summer. They may stay at Grand Geneva, The Abbey Resort, and other wonderful resort locations. Some love it here so much they buy a second home. But sometimes another option is overlooked. Consider coming and staying for one or two weeks perhaps make it a family reunion and stay at a Keefe Rental property. They specialize in week long or more vacations in the Lake Geneva area. There is much more you can explore especially when you make this destination a longer vacation!
I’ve enjoyed working with Keefe Resort Rentals as they have many private vacation rentals, which can be a more cost-effective way to travel than one might think. The homes, condos, and lakefront homes offer fully-stocked kitchens and all the amenities of home; more spacious than a hotel room. Many units can accomodate multiple families which helps to defray the costs. Check them out at: www.keeferentals.com.

Kelly & Mike were married on 10-1-10 in Lake Geneva, WI at Hawk's View Golf Club. The day started with a first look at the end of the public pier by The Riviera. Mike waited patiently looking out over Lake Geneva for Kelly to tap him on the shoulder. After the two had a few minutes together we started shooting wedding party photos with a very cool wedding party. The guys were wearing fun thigh high yellow and black socks and we had a blast with those props.
