Kristen and Jim and I all met up at the Westosha Airport near the town of Wilmot, WI. It was a fabulous day and one of my favorite engagement sessions ever! You see Jim is a pilot and we agreed it would be fun to shoot with one of the small aircraft he is able to fly. What an incredible experience. While it was a bit warm the skies were breathtaking. We had fun shooting some modelesque photos with the planes and then we headed onto the tarmac which was my favorite spot! Then we had wild flowers in a field. An old shed and they had their Yellow Lab! Take a look at the photos. Here is the link: Westosha Airport Engagement Photos.
Laura Cannon and Kyle Alexander were married at Veteran's Terrace in Burlington, WI. The images in this gallery were captured around Burlington including Echo Park, the train depot and a cool pedestrian bridge. Burlington has so much to offer. The sunset on Echo Park was astounding. Jen & Brian were married in Delavan, WI at St. Andrews Catholic Church. Photos followed in Williams Bay and Yerkes Observatory. The reception was at The Abbey Resort in Fontana, WI. Below are some samples of my favorite images from this wedding. If you would like to view the entire gallery you can follow this link...Wedding reception at The Abbey Resort.
These are some samples of fireworks shot on July 3, 2011 at Grand Geneva and July 4, 2011 at the Fontana Public beach. I used a tripod, ISO 50, Sutter Bulb, Aperture f11-f13 and a towel to add multiple exposures in the same frame. Edited in Photoshop CS5.

One of my favorite weddings. Well I love so many I can't really pick a favorite. Here are the features that make a wedding like this one so fun.
- Unique...I love it when the bride chooses themes that are different. Jenny chose pink to honor Breast Cancer Awareness.
- First Look...I love the first look because it is romantic and take so much pressure off the day and allows me to shoot many more photos for the happy couple.
- Deep colored skies.
- Energetic bridal party. When the bridal party is wild and crazy they tend to be more open to suggestions. This often leads to new and fresh poses and photo journalistic moments.
- Great music choices for the ceremony and reception. I really dug the music at Jenny and Justin wedding.
- Time. When we have time, especially with the couple, to shoot, we are able to create beautiful and dramatic imagery.
- Weather. We can't control the weather but when it is in the 70s, even when it is kind of humid, it really helps not to worry about losing the wedding party over the cold or heat.
Angie and Jeremy tied the knot at Grand Geneva on may 14, 2011. It was unfortunately a cold and rainy kind of day but Grand Geneva is a wonderful venue for having an indoor wedding as an alternative to the outdoor. Angie had a very unique trellis set up which really dressed up the indoor wedding idea.
From the first look to the bride walking down the aisle know one can deny that Jeremy loves Angie with all his heart. I admire a guy who can express his emotions. Below you can see a sample of the images from their wedding. Or you can view the entire gallery by clicking on this link: Grand Geneva Wedding in Lake Geneva, WI.
Angie Rue and Jeremy Whatley were married at the Grand Geneva in Lake Geneva, WI on May 14, 2011. What a wonderful day for love and relationships! Starting with the first look I was impressed with how much Jeremy loves Angie and of course vice versa. So many men struggle to show emotion but Jeremy was more than comfortable letting his emotions show for Angie.
The wedding party was fun and easy to work with. While it was a cold and wet day the bridal party took good care of Angie and her dress so she was able to walk down the isle with a spotless dress. Samantha and Doug are a fun loving couple and Max and I were honored to be part of their big day. They chose a masquerade party approach with masks, feathers and an amazing dress! We started out at Samantha's mom's house in Lake Geneva for some getting ready photos. Then we went to Grand Geneva for the first look before having the ceremony at the Lake Geneva United Methodist Church. After shooting the ceremony we moved into an extended wedding party session and we started that at The Riviera. There were lots of other weddings in addition to the Lake Geneva Marathon and prom that day! But the hustle and bustle only added to the excitement and fun! After the Riv we went over to Yerkes Observatory to shoot some additional shots with the amazing architecture and bold beautiful skies we had on Saturday.
Finally we went to the reception at Hawk's View Golf Club. The food was amazing and the entertainment was provided by Midwest Sound. Samantha's over the top dress was designed by San Patrick. Max Biedermann was the lead photographer for this wedding and in my humble opinion did a fantastic job. It was fun and challenging to serve as the second shooter/assistant for once.
Stacy & Jason won the, Say "I Do" Photo Contest from Grand Geneva last summer and I had the pleasure of meeting up with them yesterday to shoot their photos as part of their prize. They also won a fabulous Anniversary Getaway with Grand Geneva and a gorgeous bouquet of flowers from Treasure Hut Flowers.
